A secluded oasis
Location: London, UK
Project type: Private Garden
Client: private client
This was a challenging project with complex site levels, fence heights and retaining walls. The different levels of the existing garden felt tired and characterless and made access difficult. The garden needed an injection of style to compliment the new interior design of the house, and our client wanted to maximise privacy and sound proofing in their garden to create a secluded oasis.
We replaced the ugly brick retaining walls with modern floating steps to provide a softer, greener view from the house. The sloping rear garden has been levelled to increase the functionality and easy access of the space, now children can play football or other games.
New fences, tall bamboos and trees along the boundary lines at the desired height provide privacy and enclosure, and we added a seating and BBQ area for socialising with friends and relaxing in the garden. High quality limestone paving brought light and warm hues to the space, and natural and earthy reclaimed terracotta tiles created contrast. Over-grown shrubs have been replaced with modern woodland plants which provide a fresh and lush green look.
